School Insurance

You may think this is a strange section to have on the site. Most parents consider this is an area of insurance that is the total responsibility of the school that their children attend. Up to a point, this is correct, as the school concerned will have public liability insurance, which will protect the pupil in the event of injury or sickness due to negligence on the part of the school management.

However, that last sentence is the important caveat: negligence on the part of the school management. What if little Johnny or Jane fall whilst fooling around in the schoolyard and they break their teeth at a huge cost of repair. In this case the school management are not negligent and so, their insurance won’t pay.

This is where the necessity of ensuring that either your school has the necessary cover in place (in fairness, a lot do) or take it out yourself.

It is relatively inexpensive and a huge relief to have if something untoward happens to your children. Check around to see if your insurance provider has this cover.
