Pet Insurance

Anybody who has pets is all too aware of the cost of keeping them. However, it is when pets get sick that the expenses really mount up in veterinary costs and associated drug bills.

For a small premium, a family with pets can take out a policy that is not unlike a health cover policy on a human.
It will cover such incidentals as veterinary costs should the animal get sick or have an accident.
Usually, the bigger the animal the bigger the cost of insurance. A horse, for example, will cost a lot more than a terrier dog. That said, this is not written in stone as you can have extremely valuable and rare small animals.
As is their modus operandi, insurance companies will have exclusions that favour them. Exotic animals are difficult to insure, for example.
