House Insurance
House insurance effects all people whether they own their house or are tenants. In this section, we explore the maze that is house and home contents insurance and explain among many things why we are all paying too much for our home insurance.
For example, a misguided perception exists that when tenants move into an apartment or house, is that they and their valuables are covered under property owner’s insurance.
They will be insured for structural damage to the building and personal damage to themselves, such as caused by fire or other perils.
However, their contents are not insured and whilst one may have nice furnishings in their apartment which are covered by the landlord, they may have valuable personal possessions, such as music instruments, computers and jewellery which requires them to take out a separate policy in order for insurance cover to exist.
